Clinical and Health Psychologist, EMDR, DBT, CFT, ACT psychotherapist and Mindfulness and Mindful Eating senior Teacher.
MAIN TRAININGS AND CLINICAL ACTIVITY
- In 2003 she gratuated with honours in Clinical and Community Psychology from the University of Bologna with a thesis on ‘Exercise Addiction’.
- In 2003 she completed her post-graduate training at the S. Cesareo (PU) therapeutic community for pathological addictions.
- 2003- 2004 she worked as a research assistant with Prof. Jane Ogden at Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’s College, University of Medicine in London with a project of research related to the psychosocial aspects of severe obesity and bariatric surgery.

- 2004-2008 she attended the School of Specialisation in Health Psychology and Psychotherapy at the Department of Psychology of the University of Bologna, obtaining the title of Psychotherapist and Specialist in Health Psychology. The specialisation thesis was on a pilot project to promote healthy lifestyles and prevent risky eating behaviours through psycho-education at the IIS ‘Panzini‘ in Senigallia.
- 2005-2006 intership training in Psychotherapy at “Gruber Center” for Eating disorder in Bologna
- 2006-2007 intership training at the Psychiatric Clinic “Ai Colli” in Bologna
- 2005-2008 she worked as in-training at SAP, -The Clinic for Psychological Support of the University of Bologna
- 2007-2009 she worked as psychologist at CIC for psychological conselling in high School IIS “Panzini” in Senigallia.
- 2008-2009 she worked as a volunteer psychotherapist at the Public Mental Health Service in “Via Nani”, Bologna, in the project for borderline personality disorders.
- 2009-2010 she did the training as Instructor of Mindfulness based programmes (MBSR. MBCT) at the Italian Center for Mindfulness Studies in Rome and she obtained the certification as Senior Teacher in Mindfulness.
- 2010 she completed the training in CBT for obesity with Prof. Dalle Grave.
- 2010-2013 she worked as psychotherapy at “Ali-mente Center”, a private clinic of Villa Silvia speciaized in eating disorders and obesity
- In 2011 She completed the Level I and II training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with Dr S. Hayes, Dr Muselli and Dr Zucchi.
- In 2011 workshop on Mindfulness in Medicine and Psychology with Prof. J. Kabatt-Zinn.
- 2012- 2015 she did a PhD in Psychological Sciences (Clinical Psychology) at the University of Bologna with a research project on the relationship between eating behaviour and psychological distress in overweight and obese people and the role of mindfulness and mindful eating. She obtained the PhD in Clinical Psychology with the thesis “The relationship between eating behaviour and psychological distress among overweight and obese people: is there a role for mindfulness?”
- 2012 – 2015 she collaborated with Prof. P. Gremigni in the P.A.T. research group at the Department of Psychology of the University of Bologna. She has also been co-supervisor of several degree’s thesis on mindfulness in the Master’s Degree of Clinical Psychology at the University of Bologna.
- In 2014, she was trained as a Mindful Eating instructor in Mindfulness based eating awareness training (MB-EAT) in Belgium with Dr Jean Kristeller.
- 2015- 2024 she was a board member of The Center for Mindful Eating (TCME), where she conducted webinars, mindfulness retreats, community meditations and was one of the organisers of the World Mindful Eating Month (WMEM). She was also the author of several publications on the TCME’s blog “Food for Thoughts”.
- In 2012-2013 she trained as an EMDR psychotherapist and she was certified as an EMDR practitioner by the EMDR Europe Association.
2014- 2015 she completed the three levels of training in Dialectical Behavioural Psychotherapy (DBT) with Dr Charlie Swenson. - In 2017 and 2018 she was one of the Teachers of the Mindful Eating Professional Training (MEPT) at the Centre for Mindfulness Motus Mundi, in Padua.
- In 2021 she trained in Trauma Sensitive Mindfulness with Dr David Treleaven.
- In 2022 she was re-accredited as an EMDR Practitioner Psychotherapist.
- In 2023 she completed the two levels of training in Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT) and she is recognised as a CFT therapist by Compassionate Mind Italy.
- In 2023 she repeated the third level training in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) with Dr C Swenson.
- From 2013 to 2024 she worked as a psychotherapist and instructor of the Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention Programme (MBRP) at Centro San Nicola, an international residential rehabilitation centre for pathological addictions, working with both Italian and English speaking patients. She is currently facilitating Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention (MBRP) groups in both Italian and English at the San Nicola Addiction Centre.
- 2021- 2024 she facilitated mindfulness groups of the residential rehabilitation programme at Casa di Cura Villa Silvia in Senigallia.
- Since 2008 she has been working privately as a psychotherapist, leading individual and group, workshops and webinars on mindfulness and mindful eating.
- -Since 2018 she has been collaborating with Centro Nostos in Senigallia.
She has published several scientific and popular articles.
